sedApta Edge IIoT

The sedApta solution for acquiring, analyzing and using data from the field

Designated by the technical term of Data Acquisition System (DAS), sedApta proposes its Edge IIoT solution for standardizing the process of Acquisition, Processing and Distribution of data coming from the field (machines and plants) and intended to make production processes more effective and efficient.
 

This solution acts as an intermediate WEB component between Machines/Lines/Plants and MES.

 

The aim is to feed the MES with objective, reliable and secure data, turning them into timely and comprehensive information to support choices and implementation of corrective action plans, aimed at improving efficiency, production optimization and product quality.

The scope of the DAS solution can be extended towards advanced supervisory, HMI (human-machine interface), machine diagnostics and data processing capabilities for corrective, scheduled and predictive maintenance management.

What we mean by Edge IIoT

The Internet of Things (IoT) consists of smart devices connected to a network that send and receive large amounts of data to/from other devices, generating a high exchange of data that must be processed and analyzed for reuse.
IIoT (Industrial IoT) is the application and management of these volumes of data in the industrial environment.
Edge computing, represents a strategy for processing data directly in the devices and nodes where the data is collected or used, allowing IIoT data to be collected and processed at the edge, without sending it to a datacenter or the cloud.
Together, IoT and edge computing provide an effective way to analyze data rapidly in real time.

The acquisition of Production Progress Data (Production DB) and those related to technological processes (Processes DB) of transformation as well as of raw materials and semi-finished products, provide complete and timely information for their correlated analysis.

The required data which characterize the specific Processing of the WO in production are:

  • Production Management
    • Machine Status (Start/Stop)
    • Stop/Fault Code (numerical code of the main causes of the machine shutdown: used for the automatic casualization of the Stop of the machine to which is attributed the stop of the line.
    • Total pieces (counter)
    • Good pieces (counter)
    • Scrap pieces (counter)
    • Pieces in re-elaboration (if applicable)
  • Process Management
    • Significant process variables.
