Our Partner Engineering USA unveils Digital Offering at Stanley Black & Decker’s that chose also our Factory Scheduling tool for its “Manufactory 4.0” Center of Excellence!
A global leader in the industrial tooling market, Stanley Black & Decker (SB&D) has just announced the opening of its 23,000-square-foot Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Hartford, Connecticut. Called “Manufactory 4.0,” the facility will serve as the epicenter for the company’s global Industry 4.0 “smart factory” and workforce upskilling initiatives.
The purpose of the Manufactory 4.0 center is first to provide a physical testbed for new advanced technologies in the manufacturing space. In addition, the center will be a training facility where SB&D plant managers can come in order to learn about the latest technologies, capabilities and how they can apply them to their manufacturing facilities. To build Manufactory 4.0, SB&D was looking at all types of digital systems, including robotics, visions systems, as well as a digital backbone that could enable all of these different technologies to communicate and operate in a synchronized, seamless way. Engineering US team of Digital Industry specialists was asked to develop this digital backbone, which included Our Factory Scheduling, a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) from Rockwell Automation, and Manufacturing Simulation from Siemens PLM Software, as well as the full integration of all of these systems.
Congrats to Engineering USA’s team that supported the development of the technologies that transformed the vision of Manufactory 4.0 into a reality.
